We have tried to make it every year, but this year we finally did it! We made it to Dallas Blooms (a huge tulip festival at the Dallas Arboretum). We had one attempt early in the week where we were packed and ready, but the first ten minutes in the car were full of contstant screaming and crying, so we turned around and came home. The second attempt was a huge success! It was a pretty mellow trip; I didn't try and take in too much of the grounds but we had a nice picnic lunch followed by some great photos of the kids playing in the grass. It was a perfect day! Ok almost perfect...

Kaitlyn Nine Month Checkup
Kaitlyn had her nine month checkup with Dr. Michaels today. It was bitter sweet as we said goodbye to our favorite doctor. Logan always talks about Dr. Michaels making him feel better and Kaitlyn is so comfortable with her. It will be hard to find a doctor to match her in Colorado.
Kaitlyn at nine months:
Height: 27 1/4 inches (not an accurate measurement of this wiggly girl) 40%
Weight: 17.2 lbs. 20%
Head: 17 inches 25%

Texas Bluebonnets
With our time in Texas coming to a close, I could not leave without getting a picture of the kids in the bluebonnets. Bluebonnets are the state flower and it is a bit of a tradition for many natives to get family pictures in a field of bluebonnets. So many of our friends have taken amazing pictures. I thought I would try my hand at getting some good shots. It was tougher than I thought but I managed to get a few decent shots. Logan loved picking them and Kaitlyn loved trying to eat them so at least they enjoyed the time in the fields!

Talking and Fighting Back at Nine Months
Kaitlyn turned nine months old on Sunday, and she quickly tried to establish some ground rules. She has started saying "dadada" as soon as Brian walks in the door from work. It's always been clear that she vocally communicates her wishes. We have had many friends comment in the midst of a crying spell, "Wow! She has a set of lungs on her!" We are all excited that she may soon express her desires with words vs. just turning up the volume.
The day after she turned nine months, she expressed her unhappiness with Logan over his decision to take away her toys. She took a big bite into his arm! He came running over crying and I could see the look on Kaitlyn's face. She knew exactly what she was doing. Over the next few days she has continued to try to chomp down on his arm or any exposed area if he tries to grab one of her toys.
We have often remarked that she is going to be a tough girl; as Logan tackles her, she just laughs. We didn't know that we might have to keep our little aggressor in check.
