"Wuv" & Kisses

Logan has had lots of kisses for Mommy and Daddy. He always says "I wuv wu Daddy!" as we put him down for the night. Sometimes I get lucky with a "I wuv wu daddy mommy!" I wish I could stop time!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

It has been unseasonably cold and cloudy in Dallas and Logan is anxious to get outside. He was happy to put on his cute little frog raincoat and make a mad dash when the opportunity presented. He is definitely an outdoors boy, neither rain nor snow will stop him from enjoying some fresh air.

Free Play

We have been exploring all of the free play places in north Dallas with the bad weather. Logan and his friend Luke had the entire place to themselves and after Mommy's stomach flu and a long ride in the car he was happy to be free at last to run and play. He had not seen his buddy Luke in a week and as we pulled back into the neighborhood after our trip to San Antonio he kept asking for "Wukie? Wukie?" (Lukie). It is so cute how much he misses his buddy and here are a few shots of them in action.

BBQ!!!!

YUM! These pictures say it all!

We stopped at a famous BBQ joint called the Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX on our way home from San Antonio. We had missed it on a previous trip to Austin and I had complained to Brian for months. After the battle with the stomach virus I was not sure I would be up for it...but by Monday morning I knew we had to make the trip. It was AMAZING! In Texas there is so much debate over the best BBQ places but I have to say this is the best we have had so far. Logan loved it so much he was running his hand through the sauce in between bites of beef brisket and turkey! This is hardly normal fare for him but the taste made it an exception! We also had to end with the blackberry cobbler. Am I making you hungry yet? Too bad this place is really in the middle of nowhere! I guess that might be what makes it such a great experience to eat such wonderful food in a no-frills friendly atmosphere that is really off the map!

Valentine's Day and San Antonio

We enjoyed another beautiful day in San Antonio, touring the river walk and the Alamo on Sunday. The hotel also had a meet the animals experince at the Kids Club. Logan got to see a snake, a wallaby (small kangaroo), a trantula, a dragon lizard, a cockatoo, and he even got to pet a sloth. We only managed pictures of the sloth (gives you an idea of how slow Mommmy is with the camera!) Logan was probably the youngest one there but he sat so nicely in the little chairs as they introduced and talked in depth about each animal. He was so good we were amazed that he lasted almost the entire show! Our Valentine's dinner was a bit faster paced as Logan was tired out and in no mood to wait for multiple courses at the restaurant but we did sneak a dessert to go.

Hill Country

We booked a last minute trip to San Antonio for Valentine's Day and the long weekend. The timing seemed like it couldn't be better as we booked the rooms a couple of weeks ago but...after we had a round of a very bad stomach virus and snow everywhere, we began to wonder how this was all going to turn out! We headed out of a very cloudy, cold and snowy Dallas toward the sun on Friday night and by Saturday morning we were enjoing a cool but very nice outdoor hike in the "hill country" near San Antonio. Logan had a great time on our little hike and we even managed a quick trip to the hot tub. We had a relaxing day!

Snowman Texas Style

Logan and Daddy made a Texas style snowman today! Logan loved all of the snowmen at Christmas time; he was happy to help Daddy make one with all of our fresh, wet snow. Logan was so excited to check on his "noman" every few minutes (peeking out the back window) that he would hardly go down for a nap!

Logan Dancing

Like his Mommy Logan loves to Dance! He really has his own style and he gets noticed for it. He takes any opportunity when there is good music to get his groove on. He will start to dance in the car, in the stroller or even today during a song at library time. The dancing skills are hard to capture on video but here is my best efforts to capture his signature moves.

Here is some more video from Christmas; Logan is dancing while his Aunt Chelsea sings some great tunes!

Going Bonkers

Logan has been stuck inside with bad weather and a few colds so we recently ventured again to a giant play area called Going Bonkers. He is getting so good at climbing and I could hardly believe he climbed all the way to the top and back down all on his own.
In addition to the climbing, Logan loved playing on the car with his friend Abigail. She even managed to catch him and sneak a kiss in between fights for the car buttons.

Stories

Brian said the blog is starting to read like a children's book and it is no wonder because Logan would have us reading books all day if he could. He is turning into such a little boy before our eyes. It is amazing and awe inspiring to watch him grow everyday. Today he said penguin for the first time as he pointed them out to me in a book. A couple of weeks ago in church he was enjoying the music and when it was over he signed and asked "more, more?", when we replied "all done" he then said "Amen!" We could hardly contain our proud smiles.

Everyday is such a blessing with our little boy!
