Lil' Kicks
Logan joined soccer for the first time and he loved it!! I would describe it as less like soccer and more like a Gymboree for boys. He especially loved his Coach and wanted to make sure that "Coach" was watching every time he did something right. He may not have a future in soccer but he is sure getting a kick out of it right now.

Happy Birthday to You!
We had a great plan for Kaitlyn's birthday party. I actually stuck to the advice to keep the first birthday party simple. Kaitlyn didn't get overwhelmed and we had a simply great time! It was a small celebration at a nearby park with family and few friends! Nothing fancy because it would all have blown away with the winds. Logan, Kaitlyn, and the Watts kids played with bubbles, sidwalk chalk, baseballs, plastic horseshoes and enjoyed just running wild. Kaitlyn is not walking yet so she was entertained just standing around watching all the activities.
It was great to celebrate with famly! Grandma Gail and Grandpa Charlie had us well equiped for the adventure with great food and all the camping supplies. Great Granny stayed warm in the van taking in the all the crazy kids. Grandma and Grandpa Gebhardt had planned to join us but were flooded in (we are praying for those whose homes are still underwater). We will celebrate with Grandma Darlene and Grandpa Kelly soon!

Kaitlyn is One!!
Our baby girl turned one today! It was a special day as we celebrated with a picnic lunch at the park and a trip to a play center. It was windy but beautiful at the park and Kaitlyn loved roaming free in the grass. She also covered nearly every inch of the toddler area at the at the play center and seemed absolutely thrilled to explore everything. We all had a great time! It might have been the pizza, or the bounce house, but it was probably the most fun she had all year.

A Trip to the Dentist
After his three year checkup we learned some new recommendations from our pediatrician. AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) now recommends all kids get their teeth checked at one year. Well we were a bit behind with Logan and a bid ahead with Kaitlyn. We had practiced for the dentist visit many evenings with Mommy and Daddy playing pretend dentists. It all paid off! Logan was so excited to go to the dentist!! He was wonderful and the office was fantastic so it was an all-around great experience. One surprise was that "Gerry" Logan's favorite snugly bedtime chewy had to go! They said it was changing the angles of his teeth and could cause permanent damage.
One other surprise was new research is now suggesting using a tiny amount of fluoride toothpaste as soon as kids get their 1st tooth. It was new to me but I would love the kids to have strong teeth just like Daddy. They both seem to love to brush and Logan even loves to floss so we are well on our way to a life of big smiles.

Logan's Three Year Checkup
Logan had his three year checkup today. To quote the doctor "He looks great!" We agree.
Here are his stats:
Height: 39 3/4inches 90th percentile
Weight: 34 lbs. 12 oz. 75th percentile
They were impressed that they were able to check his eyes (20/20 hooray) mostly because they said he could communicate so well. I was one proud Momma.

Not perfect but still pretty darn good!
Everyday is perfect in Colorado. Ok my memory was a bit off. After days of rain, I began to wonder if I had just imagined all the great weather that I dreamed of during the hot Texas summers. Well the sun finally peaked out a few days and it was pretty darn nice. It may not be the perfect weather I had imagined, but the good news is that we have yet to turn on the air conditioning. Yes, we are still using the heat at night and wearing fleece during the day but we do have a nice mountain view. Here are a few pictures from May adventures.
